Hey everyone! Check out my game Bound By Battle, my attempt at a very bare bones fighting game. This game is a love letter to fighting games I grew up with, some of the designs are based from old school arcade games and influences from comics and cartoons. This is ranging from Tekken, Street Fighter, Guilty Gear, King of Fighters and more. I hope this is a fun game for casual players that does not need super complex, well timed combos to excel and focuses more on fundamentals like spacing, footsies, and stamina conservation so players use their energy strategically and not just spam. It was my first time working with pixel art animation which is why some of the attacks or designs look a bit janky so please forgive me XD.
I have been drawing and sketching since I was a kid so being able to combine some of the skill gained from my degree along with my passion for art has been great, especially in a genre of game I love (even if I am not very good at it, haha!)
This game is a "demo", something of a starting point. I really want to expand on it with ultimates, a CPU for solo play or training, a legit implementation of rollback code, and new characters. This is a one man operation so I just wanted to put this out there for any feedback in requested features, bugs or comments on game design. This game will remain free though so no worries :)
Also, shout out to DJM1ck for the awesome OST and sound effects you hear in game! And special thanks to HelioKing for some help with some early gameplay feedback.
